DR DOUGLAS ROSS’

FAQ

1What times are you available?

I consult most days from 9:00 to 16:00, except for a Monday and Wednesday morning when I am operating. I don’t usually consult on a Saturday. I am also available most nights and weekends via the emergency unit, and if not, another qualified surgeon will be available to help you

2What are your consultation fees?

My fee for room consultation is R1400, payable at the appointment. An invoice will be provided for you to claim back from your medical aid. I do not submit claims to medical aids directly from my office.

3Are you contracted with any medical aids?

Yes, I am contracted with Discovery on their classic plan, as are most of my anaesthetists. As such, if you are on a Classic or Executive plan, there won't be any additional fee from me for any procedures in hospital. Our hospital is also part of the Discovery Delta network, as well as a few other medical aids. If you are unsure if our hospital is covered, please consult your specific medical aid.

4Do you do endoscopies in rooms?

Not as yet. We may acquire equipment in the future, and will let you know via the website

5Do you do small procedures in rooms (skin biopsies, small lumps and bumps)?

Small Procedures are now being done in rooms

6Am I able to book online for a consultation?

Yes, you are. Please click the make a booking and we will get back to you as soon as we are able

7Do you operate or work at any other hospitals?

I do most of my procedures at Fourways Life, however I do also perform some smaller operations at Cure Day Clinic, also in Fourways.
